appropriately numbered, hearsay 06 is the first mix of 2006. perhaps with it is the opportunity to dig up some old tracks to mix in with new ones. to dust off some of the old vinyl and give it a spin. i can’t help but think that as we increasingly rely on electronic devices, the music recorded on media discarded is somehow displaced in favor of the contemporary mode of listening. maybe most of that music (and memories) are best left untouched, but perhaps history can be mined for a few nice gems.
