it is smashmouth who has inspired who has inspired me this time around. i was just flipping through the channels, after watching thom mayne on charlie rose, and stopped on jay leno, just in time to see smashmouth launch into a gut-wrenching, bile-inducing, scratch-my-eyes-out-of-my-head terrible christmas song. choking back the upchuck in my throat, all i could think of is everything that could have been on television at that moment that would have been better than this buffoon. the first thing that came to mind of course is hearsay. so for this special holiday edition, i ask you, no i beg you, to please provide a healthy diversion to the incredible drivel that will be trickling into our ears over the next 22 days and then some. only limits are, no smashmouth, and no springsteen singing i wish you a merry christmas, or any other christmas crap i’ll hear braving the crowds to christmas shop- a good reason to shop online. carve out some time to donate some christmas like carols (they dont have to be about xmas, but just evoke the holidays in some way, however oblique), to our collective cause, hearsay 05: holidaze.
