i suppose i should have written “synthesized” instead of “pre-recorded.” my seats were way back at the bowl (and i don’t remember from the last time i saw them) so i wasn’t sure if there was much programed on laptops or if all the sound effects were played on keyboards, but “electric feel” sounded as good as it did on the album in both this kcrw set and at the bowl.

alas, i should give credit where credit is due. i attribute my new finds to a discovery of sirius radio, more specifically the station left of center and the show 'blog radio'. M-SA at noon and midnight, Gorilla Vs. Bear, My Old Kentucky Blog, Brooklyn Vegan, Product Shop NYC, Aquarium Drunkard, and It's A Trap fill the satellite waves with some great stuff. and along those lines, also check out ra ra riot a surprisingly bright and energetic band straight out of the bleakness of central new york. maybe that canadien influence sailed across lake ontario.

ANd, as I’m sure you know, her flow it’s RIDICULOUS. She could outrhyme (dare I say) anyone in the game, of the top or with a pen and pad.

I had been looking for the name of this song for so long. I first heard it on the “Everything is Illuminated” trailer and fell in love with it. I bought the soundtrack for the love of other songs, but it was nowhere to be found. I’m glad that you put this up. Thanks!

ha! i knew i could count on you for the texas lowdown…

i guessed dawn because the lights weren’t on and i would have expected that street lights & buildings in the distance would turn the lights on before dusk.

I believe it’s the old Mueller Airport in Austin. It was razed a few years back to make way for a new urbanist development. If that is in fact the case, the orientation of the parking lot to the terminal would put the video’s shooting at dusk, rather than dawn.

This music as well as the video are new to me and they’ve both really grown on me. There’s something bizarrely engaging about watching this video. But for the first time in a long time I find the lyrics match the evocative power of the music. Thanks!
