december 2013 mix

Posted on Thursday 26 December 2013

What do you say after 7 months of neglect? “Sorry?” “Is anyone out there?”

As is probably obvious, I took a long break from the monthly mixes. Well, I didn’t really take a break from crafting them, just from posting them. So I actually have a stockpile of half-finished mixes waiting for you and me that I’ll put out there over the next few months.

Here’s the first. It started as a bad collection of tear-themed soul songs, and — although it didn’t manage to completely shrug off that melotraumatic mood — it’s still a beautiful collection of songs. It feels about right for winter/holidays. I think the average year of tracks is around 1967. And the few newer songs are phenomenal. I dare you to not get fucked up by Dark Dark Dark.

Boogie somberly.
