I’ll admit it, I had never heard of The Honey Brothers until recently. A friend turned me on to this track, “Little Boy,” and I’m crazy about it. The song has a precious feel to it, and the inclusion of a flute solo makes me think it would fit really well in The Royal Tennenbaums II or pretty much any Wes Anderson movie for that matter. But the creepy lyrics and deep vocal delivery (think David Berman of the Silver Jews) offset to the almost too-cute feel of the song.
Well looking at the band photos, even a non-cable watcher can tell that that is the dude from HBO’s Entourage. Does that mean that everybody already knows about this band except me? Why didn’t you tell me? You guys are a bunch of jerks. Picture me pulling a Michelle from Full House “How rude!” and stomping off up the stairs. I don’t actually have stairs in my place, but you can pretend.
