It’s off-subject, but this thing is cool, and has potential to be really cool if they just organize the layout a bit better. I know there are plenty of rss aggregators out there, but being able to lay them out in a web page format rather than having to download and install a program is a big plus. I put in a whole bunch of news sources, weblogs, etc. and now I have this really unique news page to browse every day. They have to have a better way of browsing between different sections (“labels”), though… the pull-down is not doing it for me. Maybe there’s a way to keep that “edit labels” box open all the time.
Wired had an article yesterday talking about news aggregates like memeorandom and google news. But I can’t help think that there is something very alluring about customizing one’s news sources. Maybe it’s somewhat insular, but I love the democracy of the whole thing. So many voices all in one place. Picked by you, based on what is important/of merit to you.

[...] When I think back through the new music I’ve listened to this year, its taken a turn for a bit more obscure stuff. This was by no means an intentional move, but a result of less exciting releases from the usual suspects (Sub Pop, Merge, etc.); coupled with checking through more of the blogs instead of Pitchfork. Google Reader probably affected my tastes more than any individual source. [...]
So here is the deal hearsay. The reader is the best thing that ever happen to me since in my office six months ago installed this killer firewall system “Fortinet” http://www.fortinet.com/ and I haven’t been able to log in to hearsay. Now that I have the reader I can bypass the system and get conected to hearsay. So please keep feeding to reader so you can keep rocking the corporate world. Thanks Cowboy Dan.. San Juan PR
Do you use Firefox? Try the extension called ‘Sage’. It’s a reader/rss thing that sits inside of Firefox. I use both Google reader and Sage, because sometimes it’s nice to have the rss reader within Firefox so I don’t have to click over to another page, other times the google reader has better features…oh, yeah, you can export your rss subscribe list and dump it into both of them so you don’t have to subscribe twice.
