Great lists, fellas. I have CYHSY at #4. I’m surprised they haven’t made more top 10 lists. I think there might a slight backlash to the “next big thing” talk, but once you get past the hype, their album is a joy to listen to. I dare say there’s not a bad song on it regardless of what Pitchfork said about the intro “Clap Your Hands.”

I think I have had (the song) ‘Clap Your Hands’ unchecked on my itunes since the first time I listened to it.
I need to go back and be reminded of what it was.

thanks raul. yeah, i’m not a fan of the cyhsy intro, but i always thought that was a big part of why everybody thinks alec sounds like david byrne.

    G’day Zoviet,

I don’t know whether you’ll remember me, but this is Anthony Williams in Perth, Western Australia here. I’m not sure which mailing list it was on – HOOD?? – but we exchanged a few messages a while back and obviously had similar musical tastes/passions… I just wanted to say “g’day”, and also let you know that I’m now producing a zine dedicated to all things “post-rock-ish” and “experimental-electronic”… Check the URL supplied for more details. BTW, are you still in NYC?

    Cheers,

    Anthony.
